SNV Connect
SNV connect offers an online access to current and historical standards, in English, French or German, published by SNV, IEC, SIA, Electrosuisse and ISO. It includes more than 45,000 standards. CERN readers can access the standards online and download them on their computer as PDF file. With this platform, you can also create alerts on selected standards to receive a notification on the future updates.
Furthermore, the CERN Library has subscribed in November 2024 to a new package of a selection of standards published by AFNOR. The following standards are now available on SNV Connect:

Electronics specifications and standards
For several years CERN has been an active member in several standardization organizations who develop important specifications and standards in the field of electronics: IPC, PCI-SIG, PICMG, PXI System Alliance and VITA. Other resources are also listed below.
IPC
IPC provides standards and quality programs supporting the electronics industry such as standards for electronics assembly and PCB fabrication. The main specification for CERN is IPC-A-610: Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.
PICMG
This organization develops standards such as CompactPCI, ATCA, MicroTCA, COM Express.
PXI Systems Alliance
This organization develops standards such as PXI: ‘PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation’ and PXIe: ‘PCI EXPRESS eXtensions for Instrumentation’.
PCI-SIG
This organization develops standards such as PCI Express, PCI and PCI-X.

SNIA
The SNIA (Storage Networking Industry Association) is a non-profit global organization dedicated to developing standards and education programs to advance storage and information technology.

VITA
This organization develops standards such as VMEbus, PMC, VXS, VPX and FMC.

The Open Hardware Repository is a place on the web which was created in 2009 so electronics designers at experimental physics facilities could have a space to collaborate on Open Source Hardware (OSHW) designs, much in the philosophy of the free software movement. The CERN Electronics Pool runs a rental service for modular electronics, low and high voltage power supplies and laboratory instruments for use in test beams or laboratories.
EP-ESE crates for modular electronics
The EP-ESE group designs and maintains electronic systems and components for the experiments at CERN. We also provide a number of services for the electronics community.
