The CERN Archives contains historical records from the early 1950s up to the present day, covering all aspects of the Organization’s work. It includes letters, memos, reports, notes & other documents created or received in the course of CERN's activities.
The Archives also houses a collection of books, reprints, correspondence, manuscripts and photographs of the late Wolfgang Pauli (Nobel Laureate, 1945). Many of these records are available online.
Links to various resources, including a historical chart of changes to the internal organization of CERN (searchable by decade and by department), information on scientific committees and biographical information about some of CERN’s notable figures.
The Archives operates with the help of Divisional Records Officers (DROs), who assist in locating and collecting archival material. Here are some useful links, including Guidelines for the DRO and a list of CERN’s DROs.
Do you have records that may be of interest to the Archives? Do you want to know how to manage your records? Here are some links that may help.
CERN’s publicly available web pages are archived as part of a partnership with the Internet Memory Foundation.
