Request for articles

Before submitting an interlibrary loan (ILL) request, please check carefully in the CERN catalogue that you do not order material already available at CERN, or ask us to check if we already have it.

To order an article, you have two choices. Either you can use the CERN library and ask us to order an article for you (by filling this form), or you can order it via the German National Library of Science and Technology.

Order via CERN Library

CERN Library staff searches the article for you and orders it to one of the numerous providers we are working with.

1. Fill the form, with as much information as you have.

You usually receive the articles in pdf in the next 24 hours.

 

Order via the German National Library of Science and Technology

Order directly the articles you need to the German National Library of Science and Technology in Hanover.

This institution is collaborating with CERN making available for our users its vast collection.

1. Identify the article you would like to order by searching the catalogue and order your copy by choosing "order" ; or fill in the blank form

2. Do not forget to identify yourself! Replace "lib.acq@cern.ch" with your own email address and put your name in the field: Internal comment

3. Please note that the delivery speed is very good, articles are normally delivered within 24 hours, even if you do not request the most expensive express delivery mode

According to the German copyright law, you will receive the articles as pdf encrypted using Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology. DRM utilized by the TIB allows: electronic delivery to one PC using one user account, to open and view the document whithout limitation for 30 days, to print the document twice. You need the FileOpen plug-in
If for some reason the document cannot be delivered electronically, a paper copy will be sent to the Library. This copy will be forwarded to you.
