Administrative history
The CDHS neutrino experiment at CERN was a collaboration of CERN, Dortmund (Technical University of Dortmund, Germany), Heidelberg (Heildelberg University, Germany) and Saclay (CEA de Saclay)(later joined by the University of Warsaw) led by Jack Steinberger. The CDHS experiment, referred to as WA1, was the first experiment to be approved for running at the Super Proton Synchrotron. Installed in the West Area, it was designed to study deep inelastic neutrino interactions in iron. The experiment took data in the CERN neutrino beams from December 1976 until September 1984.
