The new CERN Library Catalogue

16 April, 2021

On 21st April, the Library catalogue that is currently integrated in the CERN Document Server (CDS) will be made available in a new dedicated application.

The CDS and Library teams have been jointly developing the CERN Library Catalogue with the aim of improving your experience when using the Library services: searching the various collections, borrowing books, accessing electronic resources, requesting new documents, etc.

The CERN Library Catalogue will only include documents physically or electronically made available to CERN Users by the Library : e-books, books, proceedings, standards, and journals.

CERN scientific publications such as preprints, published articles or theses written by CERN authors or collaborations will stay in CDS in its role of CERN institutional repository. However, links between the two systems will be enabled to allow for smooth navigation between documents.

Of course, with this new system we do not lose access to the past, and in your user account, you will  be able to retrieve details concerning your current loans, requests and history. The baskets in CDS will remain available, and book records will be redirected to the new Library Catalogue. However, the basket feature will not be available in the new application.

To allow the migration, the Circulation activities (Loans, book requests, Interlibrary loans...) will be stopped on Tuesday 20th April in CDS. In the meantime, do not hesitate to contact us: @email if you need a document.

Once the CERN Library Catalogue is online, information on how to access it will be published on CDS and on this website.

As usual, we welcome your feedback at @email
